Mama Restaurant Real Thai Food

I have been telling hubby we should eat in this restaurant. Not that I have eaten here before but I was
intrigued with their signage - Mama Restaurant Real Thai Food

I love Thai food! And there's not a lot of good Thai restaurant here in PP.

Anyway, the other night hubby conceded and we went there. Great thing it's now walking distance from our new apartment.

The place is big and they have seafood live station. You can choose the way you want your seafood cooked.

We ordered a fish and had it deep fried because our son wants a crispy fish. So aside from the fish, we had the following:

Pineapple fried rice $5.00

Shrimp cake $5.00

Pad thai $4.00

Stir-fried mixed vegetables $4.00

The food was okay. Nothing spectacular but then nothing bad either. In fact, I liked the stir-fried veggies and the pineapple fried rice. But the pad thai, I think I've had better.

Anyway, the noodles they used for their pad thai was the thin kind, not the usual flat noodles. This is the second or third time I've encountered such, so that left me wondering what noodle is really used for authentic pad thai?

Mama's New York Deli

After a whole day of non stop physical work (we moved to our new apartment), I was so starved I could eat a horse. LOL!

I had no energy to cook our dinner so I suggested we walk to Mama's New York Deli. Hubby has eaten here before with his American boss and he said the food is good.

I ordered Patty melt with french fries. It was really cheesy, which I like but I wasn't able to finish it. I guess I wasn't really that hungry lol! We ordered a grilled cheese sandwich in a bun for EJ. He said liked it because it was also cheesy. Yup, we are a cheesy family. Hahaha!!!

Hubby ordered BLT with coleslaw. Of course he ate it all the sandwich! He said it was good. I had a taste of their coleslaw and I liked it.

Here's one happy customer. Our bill amounted to $17 including the big water bottle, iced tea and coke. I thought it was affordable.

The service at La Croisette was fast and the food was good. The ambience is relaxed and cozy. I think it's a great place for sundowners and happy hours.

Saturday Lunch Buffet at Sunway Hotel

For only $13/person, the Saturday lunch buffet at Sun Cafe Restaurant in Sunway Hotel is the cheapest buffet I have ever been to. Most of the hotel buffet in Phnom Penh range from $22 - $35.

There are several good choices of food but don't expect 5* choices. If you want a relaxed Saturday lunch, this one's perfect because they also have a live band serenading you.

Seafood and Mongolian BBQ Buffet at Himawari Hotel

Here's another place in Phnom Penh we keep on coming back - the buffet at Himawari Hotel. Personally, the draw for me is the salmon sashimi and the barbeque. Their chicken wing bbq is so delish! I bet you'd come back for more.

They don't have a very fancy spread like that of Sofitel or Raffles but if you're like me and you only want the sashimi and a little bit of something then this is the place for you too.

Seafood and Mongolian BBQ Buffet is every night and costs $21.80++ per person. It's actually cheaper compared to the other buffets in the city.

We've been to this place one time only. It's because my husband like pork meat than beef. LOL! Yes, Sarpino's Pizzeria in Phnom Penh serves Halal food, so no pork meats.

Coffee Shop: Gloria Jean's Coffees Phnom Penh

Hubby and I are coffee and tea lovers. We're lucky that Phnom Penh seems to have coffee shops in every corner of their tiny streets.

One of our favorite coffee shop is Gloria Jean's Coffees, an Australian-owned International chain of coffee shops. Gloria Jean's Coffees Phnom Penh's first store opened in 2010 and now they have three branches - BKK 1, Riverside and Canadia Tower.

We've been to three locations and our favorite place is in Riverside.

This is one of our favorite restaurants in Phnom Penh. They serve the best Seafood Amok in the entire of Phnom Penh!

Trasak Pa-Em Restaurant is located along Street 63 corner Street 184. If you plan to eat there for lunch, go a little early as the place easily fills up with locals and tourists alike.

They serve Khmer, Thai and some Western cuisine.

The Pizza Company Delivery in Phnom Penh

Last Tuesday night, I just ordered delivery for our dinner. I did not have time to prepare dinner as I was busy taking care of my two sick boys at home.

My boys wanted pizza so I called up The Pizza Company for delivery. Their service is fast. They promise a 30-minute delivery time and most of the time they do deliver in less than 30 minute's time.

Our order that night were:

6-piece Chicken BBQ Wings

4-piece Bacon and Cheese Twist

I ordered a ham and mushroom spaghetti but they brought a Spaghetti Spicy Sausage. Good thing I like spicy food.

Cafe Monivong at Raffles Hotel

We're big eaters. We used to go to a buffet restaurant every Friday night. Then hubby and I got big and we decided we should do something about it. So we stopped going to buffet restaurants for a while.

Now that we've lost so much weight, we've decided we can still go to buffets once a month.

One of our favorite buffet restaurant is Cafe Monivong of Raffle Hotel Le Royal. They have seafood buffet every Friday night. We've been in this restaurant for over 10 times already that the restaurant manager gave us a discount card of 15% on food and beverage. Hehe. Thanks Raffles!
